Common Questions
Everything you need to know about our Connemara walks and lakeside experiences
We keep it leisurely—most of our bog walks cover around 4-5 kilometres over 2.5 to 3 hours, with plenty of stops to catch your breath, take in the views, and chat about the landscape. You set the pace, and we're happy to adjust based on how you're feeling that day.
Waterproof walking boots with good grip are ideal—bogs can be boggy! We've got a full guide on our website covering footwear and gear that actually matters, so you're not buying unnecessary kit. Bring layers and a windproof jacket no matter the season.
You'll get a gentle walk to reach a scenic spot, then 2-3 hours of relaxation time by the water with refreshments, optional bird watching or sketching, and guided reflection if you want it. It's designed to feel like a proper retreat, not a rushed tour.
Absolutely—we've designed everything for moderate fitness levels and we're experienced working with people managing various mobility needs. If you've got concerns, let us know beforehand and we'll discuss which experiences suit you best.
We keep groups small—typically 6 to 10 people—so you get genuine local expertise and can actually have a conversation with fellow walkers without it feeling like a coach tour. Smaller groups also mean better pacing and more flexible stopping points.
We reschedule if conditions are genuinely unsafe, but Connemara rain is usually just part of the charm—waterproofs and a good pace keep you comfortable. We'll be honest if a walk isn't happening, and you can reschedule for another date at no extra cost.
